This is a tool that when used properly is essential for any cyclist doing their own maintenance. It does require the user to pay close attention to instructions and a bit of trial and error, but once understood it is simple to operate. No more greasy hands!

For cyclists who do mostly clean up and minor adjustments on their bicycles removing the rear wheel is the task most likely to leave you with grease on your hands. Chainlift is a game changer. I clean my bicycle and oil the chain less than once a week normally; disengaging the derailleur is one of the hardest tasks for people like me who do this so infrequently. Once you learn how to use this tool, removing the rear wheel becomes a task where you never need to touch the chain. It works exactly as advertised; I am glad I have it.

The website has videos and still images that make learning how to use the tool easy too. I watched the videos, experimented with the tool as suggested, and then followed the three-step process of using the tool shown in three still images, and it is a simple skill to acquire. This is a well designed and useful tool to own.

Really love this thing. You need to exercise 5 minutes of patience when first using it to figure out how it works on your particular bike, but after that it’s a breeze to use. I use it for taking the bike on/off a smart trainer and it makes that a 30 second process. Love it.
